Traditional WAN Challenges: MPLS & Internet VPN : Limitations of hub-and-spoke MPLS WAN, backhauling internet traffic through headquarters, MPLS cost and provisioning delays, and the business drivers for SD-WAN adoption.
SD-WAN Architecture Philosophy & Benefits : Separation of control, data, management, and orchestration planes, WAN abstraction, centralized policy management, transport independence, and TCO reduction vs. legacy WAN.
Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) vs. Competitors : Positioning of Cisco SD-WAN against VMware VeloCloud, Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, and Silver Peak. Key differentiators: OMP, enterprise feature richness, and Cisco ecosystem integration.

Best SD-WAN course I've found anywhere
The OMP and policy modules are explained with exceptional clarity. The instructor breaks down the vSmart control plane in a way that no documentation does. Hands-on ZTP and AAR labs are fantastic. Got hired as an SD-WAN specialist after completing this course.

Very comprehensive and up-to-date content
The cloud on-ramp and security integration modules are current with the latest Cisco SD-WAN features. The comparison with VeloCloud in Module 1 was very helpful for understanding Cisco's positioning. Excellent program overall.

Solid course with great lab infrastructure
The vManage UI labs are very well designed. I would appreciate more coverage of dual-WAN cEdge deployments with ISR hardware but the virtual lab covers all the key scenarios. Good balance of theory and practice.

Passed ENSDWI 300-415 on first try
Used this course as my sole study resource for ENSDWI and passed on the first attempt. The policy framework and security modules are spot-on for the exam. The comprehensive final lab really ties everything together.
vEdge devices run Viptela OS and are the original SD-WAN edge hardware. cEdge devices run Cisco IOS-XE with the SD-WAN feature set and include the ISR 4000, ASR 1000, and CSR 1000v platforms. Cisco is converging toward cEdge, and new deployments typically use cEdge.
Yes. The course is fully aligned with the ENSDWI 300-415 exam blueprint, covering architecture, controller deployment, WAN edge deployment, policies, security, and management domains.
A solid understanding of routing fundamentals (OSPF, BGP basics, IP routing) and WAN concepts is required. CCNA-level knowledge is the minimum recommended prerequisite for this course.
This course covers Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela-based), which Cisco now calls Catalyst SD-WAN. The architecture and concepts are the same — only the branding has changed. All lab exercises use the current Cisco recommended platform.
Yes. Module 5 covers both SaaS Cloud on-Ramp (optimizing Microsoft 365, Salesforce) and IaaS Cloud on-Ramp with AWS TGW and Azure Virtual WAN integration using SD-WAN gateway deployments.
